FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the iDrCard®?

The iDrCard® is the International Doctor ID Card issued by World Health Practitioners (WHP) to approved members. It identifies the holder as a WHP member whose submitted credentials were reviewed by our committee.

How long does the review take?

Reviews usually take seven to fourteen business days. During the review we may contact you and ask for more information or documents.

What documents do I need?

A passport-style digital photo (it can be a selfie), a scanned copy of your proof of identity (passport or driver’s licence), and one or more documents proving your official jurisdiction: a national professional ID card, a practice licence, a certificate of registration with your regulatory body, or a confirmation letter from your regulatory body. Documents not in English must include a translation.

Is the review fee refundable?

No. The fee pays for the committee’s review, so it is not refunded if an application or renewal is declined.

Is the iDrCard® a licence to practise?

No. Holding an iDrCard® is not a licence to practise in any jurisdiction, and it is not a legal or official document. All critical information should be independently verified.

How do I renew?

Before your expiry date, log in, upload one document showing you are still a member in good standing of a regional, national or local governing organization, and pay the $100 USD renewal fee. The committee reviews the document. Your card number stays the same. If your membership expires, you must apply again from the start, and your old records are deleted 30 days after the expiry date.

Holding an iDrCard shall not in any way be construed as a license to practice in any jurisdiction around the world. Read our Terms & Conditions.
